Installing TCUP on non-administrator account - bakster - 06-30-2007 Iis there an easy way to install/extract TCUP 2.7 in non-administrator account? I went through much trouble to set it up on non-administrator account and I had to install it on another computer then copy it, adapt .ini files for many options.... too much trouble. Is it possible to do it easier? RE: Installing TCUP on non-administrator account - [HUN]Peti - 06-30-2007 bakster Wrote:Iis there an easy way to install/extract TCUP 2.7 in non-administrator account? You can extract the installator program with Universal Extractor (it is a part of TC UP), but if I remember correctly it won't work. TC UP's install extracts program files and then copies config and language files to make TC UP multilangual. So if you extract it only, you may have it in English only or it's possible that it will not work. Once you have installed it, you can copy its files as they are to another computer, only Windows-based operating systems are supported of course... RE: Installing TCUP on non-administrator account - bakster - 07-03-2007 Thanks for reply. I'll have to manually extract and install it for every new version from now on. Also, I noticed that there is problem with RAR extractor. It wouldn't read RAR files. When I copied rar plugin files from TC UP 2 and replaced original TC UP 2.8 files, everything started to work fine. Regards! RE: Installing TCUP on non-administrator account - [HUN]Peti - 07-03-2007 You will have troubles with this extraction thing in later versions, we don't know yet that which version will be hard to just extract, but I'm sure you'd better use an Administrator account. Files of TC UP 2? Do you mean 2.0? It's possible that it helps, the current versions use fhRAR for rar files, which supports multi-part archives, but it's a fact that it isn't working on my pc either... |
