Problems on copying files with unicode filenames - crowley - 08-10-2007 Hi there, I just wanted to copy the current TC UP installation on my USB Stick (using TC UP)... and therefore I ran into a problem: in <TC UP Dir>\Plugins\Doc\ are the files Sugo.chm and Súgó.chm ... if I copy those two files, totalcmd wants to overwrite the first with the second one, as it cannot differ between the filenames (the copy order has no influence on it). Can anyone reproduce this behaviour? Greetings C. RE: Problems on copying files with unicode filenames - m^2 - 08-10-2007 It works correctly here. Can you download pure Total Commander from ghisler.com and check what happens? RE: Problems on copying files with unicode filenames - crowley - 08-10-2007 m^2 Wrote:It works correctly here. Same behaviour... now I tried to copy the files via windows explorer... there's the same "Would you like to overwrite..."- dialog o_O RE: Problems on copying files with unicode filenames - m^2 - 08-10-2007 What is your destination filesystem? If it's FAT then probably no go

Thanks! Crowley RE: Problems on copying files with unicode filenames - [HUN]Peti - 08-10-2007 It's my fault, Súgó belongs to my language
RE: Problems on copying files with unicode filenames - [HUN]Peti - 08-10-2007 But there is a real bug: one of my friends has a CD made in Egypt, it contains music with arabic characters as file names. When we tried to copy it on my hard disk (drive J: 244GB, formatted with NTFS) TC displayed an error message. Windows Explorer could copy it. RE: Problems on copying files with unicode filenames - m^2 - 08-10-2007 Total Commander is an ANSI program. The author said he's working on UNICODE version, 7.5 or 8.0 should be ok. |
