There's a free for home purposes plugin called CADview which I would like to see implemented in the tcup package, if possible

I' had considered adding this plugin once and I even made Polish translation for that. But I don't want to add a plugin with limited functionality. That is the reason for saying "No".
Would DwgPreview plugin fulfil your needs after all?

DwgPreview sounds interesting. Can you please provide details as to how install this plugin. I tried but couldn't get it to work.
I added the plugin, using the LS-Plugins button in the Edit/View dialog box.

Unfortunately, DwgPreview is hopeless at viewing CAD (dwg) files.
For now, I'll just stick with cadview. It's by far better than DwgPreview
