Parallel Port connection possible? - AEN007 - 05-03-2008

3May2008

Greetings.
Yesterday I received my Interlink/Laplink
parallel data transfer cable in the mail.
I have three laptops - two with ECP parallel ports.
I have been searching non-stop for something
better than the Windoze Direct Cable Connection.
I found some apps (Laplink/LinkMaven/Filevan),
but these apps are not free - not cheap either.
I discovered Total Commander (TC) for myself,
but Total Commander is bloody expensive.
Today I found Total Commander PowerPack (TCPP),
so I now have the/a free parallel port file transfer app.
I have posted at Double Commander asking if
Double Commander supports parallel port file transfers
(because DC says TC inspired DC).
I am not at familiar with TC Ultra Prime (TCUP).

My question at this time is:
does TCUP support parallel port file transfers?

Please reply/advise.
Thank you.

no limitations Freeware vs startup splash screen? - AEN007 - 05-03-2008

3May2008

Greetings.
So I have found that TCUP supports
the parallel port connection, but
could/would anyone explain to me
why the Total Commander Ultima Prime 3.7
listing at Download.com says -
"License: Free
Limitations: No Limitations"
while the startup splash screen says -
"This is shareware. You can use
this fully functionin demo free for 30 days
after which you must register or remove the software"?

Please reply/advise.
Thank you.

TC UP > Menu > Net > PORT connection to other PC...

TC UP project is free. But it's based on Total Commander, which is a commercial program. The startup window is Total Commander's one and you need to buy it's license to remove it.
