TC Up New bugs - laburj2 - 11-09-2008
hello, tc up_new is very powerful tool, but
i found some bugs:
1) For example, i have 2 words (strings), which located in 2 different txt files and i want to make dir with name "1st word-2word" (ex. Bob-Rock)
and i switch to 1st txt-file and copy 1st word and paste in window of TC UP_new
then i switch to 2nd txt-file and copy 2nd word and
switch to TC Up_new window, press "End", "-" and want to paste 2nd word, but 2nd word replace 1st word!!!!

2) In version 2.0 of TC Up_new i can't make new templates, such as in verion 1.3 (for example i copy blank file template.jpg in folders templates) and then i create new file with tc up new 1.3 i get this file..

1) Select all directories and press Ctrl+M.
2) Copy the template file to template dir and it will use it.

why ctrl+m (multi-rename tool) if i want to create file or folder by TC UPnew (plz see my post above)

I have here the same problem with TC UP New...
If you have entered some text into the "new folder name" edit and paste then some text from clipboard, the manually entered text is replaced.
Simple example:
after ripping a CD, I want to create an appropriate folder hierarchy, setting the folder name to "[2008] Album of the year".
The text, album of the year I copied from a text file or a website into the clipboard. I open TC UP New by F7, I enter "[2008] " and then I want to paste the content of the clipboard to the Editfield by Ctrl+V. But instead of appending the "Album of the year" to the text, I already have written, my manually entered "[2008] " will be replaced and in the edit is just written "Album of the year".
THIS is really an annoying and not standard behaviour and very very easy to fix.

another one:
if partition, on which TCUP is installed, is full, TC UP New cannot be closed. TC UP New wants to save its configuration and in case, that this fails, TC UP is uncloseable (beside killing process). The funny thing about this, is, that you may not even alter your TC UP New configuration to clear the history in the config file... because it wants to save the 'do not save history'- flags before deleting the history o_O
as speaking from history: probably you should consider to clean it up... or offer the user to remove parts of the history ^^ I do not need to have 67 entries for the foldernames "Temp" or "Backup" in the list. Offer the user an option to sort the list... options historical and alphabetical sort order would be great.
