Alternative Menu - damat - 04-20-2009 I have reorganized menu of TC UP to make it more readable and logic (for myself at least). First of all, I have sorted commands alphabetically; then added separators to make "gropus" of commands; and finally renamed popups for more sence. Also you can find my hotkeys in the menu: unfortunately, TC can't insert shortcuts for the commands automatically. Several minor tweaks like modified Configuration menu are also done, but they are too minor to speak about them. WCMD_ENG.MNU file is attached, unzip it and copy to LANGUAGE folder (save original file first!!!) RE: Alternative Menu - damat - 04-20-2009 Have anyone tried it? 33 views, no response, why? RE: Alternative Menu - Cimpr - 04-28-2009 Well I did and I have to say, it's pretty good! ;-) Thanks RE: Alternative Menu - damat - 04-29-2009 Cimpr, thanks, man! =) I thought that it would be a 100% hit, since it really nice and cool. But it seems like I have mistaken. 105 views = 1 feedback. Hmm... =) RE: Alternative Menu - Cimpr - 04-29-2009 Too bad for them, I'm definitely gonna using it! ;-) RE: Alternative Menu - fenixproductions - 04-29-2009 (04-29-2009, 06:49 AM)damat Wrote: I thought that it would be a 100% hit, since it really nice and cool. But it seems like I have mistaken. "Nice" depends on user. As an example: my MNU is the best for me but you would rather hate it. Why? Because from time to time I am removing items for which I am sure I remembered shortcuts. One day there will be no menu at all
RE: Alternative Menu - damat - 04-29-2009 I can't agree with that: menu should be as detailed as possible. It should be a persistent reminder for you what the program can do and what are the shortcuts. For the moment, TC UP is too big to use it only with shortcuts. But if you don't need menu, since you are advanced user, you should have an option to hide it OR to switch to minimized variant. Hiding is impossible, but I hope that menu switching can be done. Not with cm_XXX but with wincmd.ini. AFAIR you need an empty MNU file and some of these options set: Quote:RestrictInterface= Although it's not comfortable solution so I prefer to remove not needed entries. This is the best for me. If I have to share my PC with other people I would rather create separate INI for them with default (or better) menus. Currently I can afford myself to be egoistic :p PS. This page shows what can be done: http://www.ghisler.ch/wiki/index.php?title=Minimal_TC_interface RE: Alternative Menu - damat - 04-29-2009 New day, new knowledge, thanks. So, you didn't like my version at all? Too detailed? RE: Alternative Menu - fenixproductions - 04-29-2009 (04-29-2009, 04:47 PM)damat Wrote: So, you didn't like my version at all? Too detailed? They are too large for my taste. I'd would be nice to have alternative version with some sub-menus but even then I doubt I will use it because I've got my own configuration which was working for me for years. Well, I don't even use TC UP. Additionally, you've got duplicated shortcuts: difres tool Wrote:English and Foreign menu have different item count! Few misspellings too (like Confuguration)
