I don't think there is standalone plugin for viewing PowerPoint files. If htmlview plugin cannot handle it, nothing can, unfortunately.

Does it really work for you?

Simple Viewer supports:
.ODT .ODS .ODP .ODG .ODF .ODB .ODM .OTT .OTH .OTS .OTG .OTP
.SXW .SXC .SXG .SXI .SXD .SXM .STW .STC .STD .STI.

HtmlViewer:
OpenOffice.org 2.x Writer (ODT OTT), MS Word 2007(DOCX DOTX), FictionBook (FB2).

There is nothing about PPT/PPS. I've tried without success. The only way to check which left is MultiLister plugin.

It is possible if the snapshot create autorun in html with links to the presentations
