bash shell - dmitryl - 08-09-2009

How can I replace the DOS shell (currently is accessed from the command line) to the bash one?

Thank you

When you use the TC command line, it uses Windows shell and it can't be changed. Or maybe you mean smth else?

Ok, so what's the problem. You don't need to change your environment or shell. Bash may operate as a single exe file.

Please take a look at 'http://win-bash.sourceforge.net/'. It seems the only issue is to change cmd.exe with bash.exe. Isn't it?

The problem is that I don't know what do you mean. TC never calls cmd.exe unless you:
  • Start it by yourself
  • Execute TC's internal command cm_ShowConsole (or smth. like this)
  • Start an executable with Shift+Enter
  • Use a plugin that starts it
OK, the list might miss some things, but I think that you mean something else. After your first post I got an impression that you're commenting about TC's command line. If it is so, then TC talks with Windows directly, w/out cmd.exe or other external shell.

Thanks m^2,

I guess that an integration of the terminal emulator into TC UP is also impossible. Am I right?

Actually I'm looking for any solution, which will allow me to have both the command line and the Folders View in a single window but in seperate panels (like in Take Commander).

I guess, with the TC it's impossible.

Is it hard for the implementation or just a thing that was not in the first priority?

It's possible already.
Let's continue the discussion here.
