[Suspected] Plugin is a virus ? - orglee - 08-24-2009 Hi. I've installed PC Tool AntiVirus and he found file "C:\Program Files\TC UP\PLUGINS\wfx\MotoP2K\MotoP2K.wfx" being suspected of HeurEngine.Packed.NSPack. I have no experience in checking those kind of things so I really don't know what to think about it. RE: [Suspected] Plugin is a virus ? - DT611 - 05-11-2010 (08-24-2009, 10:27 PM)orglee Wrote: Hi. I believe a plugin will only be installed if you gave permission in installing it on your computer. However, if you are still bothered if that is really a virus, I think you should try out other antivirus programs such as AVG. Before, I uses ESET. I am happy and satisfied with it until I was given the chance to have a copy of AVG. And based on my observations, it scans your PC thoroughly than ESET, or any other AV programs. Enough said, I recommend that you use other antivirus to check on your PC for suspected virus or infected files. _________________________ "If you don't like something change it; if you can't change it, change the way you think about it." ~ Mary Engelbreit RE: [Suspected] Plugin is a virus ? - m^2 - 05-11-2010 (08-24-2009, 10:27 PM)orglee Wrote: Hi. Some AV companies use a heuresis that malware is packed more often than legit software. While the heuresis might be true, it flags many legit programs as suspicious and this is such case. I suggest to use an antivirus that without such bogus rules. |
