Request for TCUP 5.1 - xbrook - 05-02-2010
I'd like request about update TCUP programs suite... I would be very glad, for new updated version released... Many programs has new versions, Total commander 7.55, Opera 10.53, Aimp 2.62, KMplayer e.t.c
what about tcup team? u cannot conform update main programs every 6 months for example? or is this project tottaly finished ?

I have one request for tcup 5.1
The installer should merge previous configuration and then it should which plugin should be enabled/disabled. IMO there are few uselles plugins which should be disabled.
Also it should check if a version of tcup is installed on disk also not only in registry. I have v4.9 installed then reinstalled windows and i couldn't force the installer to the update mode.

Its a shame thats here is not so much discussion in progress... Every time, one or two replies. Not many new threads are opening... I dont know why... I think this suite is perfect, i am using it around 2 years...
what i want, i trust today is the DAY with "D"

And i trust, what TCUP will be released in short time period, it means, 3 months is good...
what i request to moderators and authors, update to beta versions... for example.. TC 7.55 RC2 , Aimp, KM player ...
I understand, that beta versions can many time occured unstability of program, and after that program is useless for normal user...
In case of Opera, i understand... Beta versions are many times unstable, u should keep some final in TCUP....
Next thing is add some USER JAVA SCRIPT into opera folder, small files can improve browsing... maybe we can find 5 scripts most best for users... ( youtube download - java script to opera ) small, and very useable file... or some picture or google adjustments....
I accept and using 95 perc of programs in tcup...
what will be good for improvement is MIRANDA ... Standard miranda program without any modification is very light and simple program... Maybe only small plugin up will be enough... Sometimes more simple is better... now there is so many plugins, miranda is very very no good opacity... I am using pidgin instead of that... because is lite, good looking, smart settings, simple...
Please made something with miranda... many times in many options was crashed and too many plugins inside... i dont think that is good...
Next, all other problems are perfect...

If we find people to help us with ultimagsm.com, we'll be releasing new TC UP versions monthly like we used to do, we just don't have the time now.

There is still a lot to do. It will need a lot of work.
Let me write here what i am planning for next releases.
First of all, i have almost finished making TC UP installer fully unicode.
It is still w.i.p. I also want to make tcup more windows 7 friendly. It means i want
to design new icons in different sizes for few resolutions. We have made first step by refreshing tcup main icon. Next, is to work on TC UP New tool. It still has some bugs and unfinished features. Also, new tcup feature - displaying system information on tc titlebar will be improved. For now it support AIMP player information (as we love AIMP, thanks Artem) - i would like to add also Winamp support (as i am official polish translator of this program) and i suppose many of you use also winamp to listening to the music.
What else. Tcup integrator will be rewritten and i hope improved.
And, at the end i wish to not distribute alpha or beta versions with tcup distribution. I don't like this.
Please, write what do you think. How could we improve tcup.

PS: Winamp finished for me in version 3.0, after that versions are only heavyweight program... And Aimp is perfect... no comment
