VISTA Questions File Attributes
#1
Hi there,

Big fan of TC. Have tried powerpack long ago and didn't use it. Just built my own version of TC.

Just installed TCUP on Vista. Great combination of products!

The very first thing I got was a message that any changes to files are met with the windows message that the program is not compatible with anything past server 2003. This is for permissions and attributes and trying to open files even with UAC turned off.

Any idea when a version will be available for Vista?

Thanks

I had the same question first time I started using TC UP and this was the answer :

Did you try latest version of TC UP? Installer sets proper right for configuration files automatically during installation procedure - so you shouldn't have any problems with changing TC UP settings (even with UAC switched ON).

Sorry I was unclear.

TCUP4.0 downloaded a few days ago.

What I meant, was not installing the product. What I meant was trying to perform operations on files (not TC files) with the product.

There is a TCUP module that is setup to work on XP permissions and ACLs. (Sorry I don't remember the name of the plugin)

But my question still stands:

When will there be an updated version of TCUP that supports Vista?

.... (including UAC/ACL/DomainACL/...etc issues)?

Thanks

TC UP > Menu > NTFS > Permissions dialog?
