Problem with AIMP
#1
Exclamation
Bad luck, but AIMP's media library is not sufficiently programmed for my needs. I do have round about 1.2 TB of mp3 files (honestly, for the most of them I have an original LP or CD here) and AIMPs start to hang on even loading or updating the media library... it takes more than one hour to finish the initial loading and then each search needs about 5-10 minutes.

Is this a known problem? Or is there a work around?

My problem is quite different, but also related with AIMP.
I've just installed TCUP 4.6 and AIMP started to have some issues with some kind of database. This is what i get every time it starts:
Quote:Error: unable to open database file
Last query:
SELECT MAX(PlayCount) FROM MAIN

It doesn't save any settings and I have to open all my playlists every time I run the application..
I updated from TCUP 4.1

Edit: After reinstalling (with complete removal) TCUP it's fine

The source of your problems is "update mode" which did not remove old (alpha and unstable) versions of AIMP libraries.

Ok, when I use AIMP, it gives a popup that said updates are available, and to click to download. I download. I install to default directory, but then AIMP is not registered, and does not have record functionality. I did figure out how to install skins and visualizations, and I am just wondering if I have to do something in similar fashion to update AIMP. More specific, what folders do I install it to??

NOTE: Cheers!! Big Grin to Site admin. I emailed a question and it was answered within 10 minutes. You will not find that kind of quick and accurate response anywhere else.
