TC PowerPack Lister and Archiver in TCUP
#1
As the title indicates I would like to use TC UP (hereafter referred to as UP) but I really really really miss some things from Total Commander Power Park (hereafter referred to as PP).

I have no knowledge whatsoever to do this on my own. So if any of you guys wants/can help me, that would be much appreciated.

So, what I was trying to do for the past 2 hours (and gave up) is to make:

lister plug in (at least I hope it is the right name for it) from PP to work in UP. That is the plugin in PP when you press F3 it will open any file right away (nfo, avi, mp3,etc). Plus if I can still keep that neat MP3 player from UP that would be magnificent.

And second thing is about archiving. In PP when you have archive and you try to open any file in that archive (example .rar with 20 pics) it will give you the option to 1. unpack only that file 2. unpack the whole archive 3. close

So if Anyone can help, get to it! Tongue

Open wincmd.ini and go to [Packer] section. Set there:
Code:
ExpertMode=0

The other one is doable, but harder.
First, how does it work: TC has own file viewer ("Lister") that you can see in TC PP and under Shift+F3 in TC UP.
When you press F3 in TC UP, it starts OpenFileTC which starts desired program for each file.
Moving plugins from one to the other and changing hotkey would make it work the way you want. Almost. You won't get AIMP this way. So the things to do are:
-Move TC PP plugins to TC UP lister
-Remove all OFTC associations for F3 except for AIMP
-Associate other files with internal lister. I'm not sure if OFTC supports "all other", if not then you would have to either choose lister for each extension the first time you view it or replace OFTC with something else (i.e. TotalEditor)

There's one problem: Currently you can't do the last thing straightforward because external programs (OFTC) can't start lister with a specified file. 2 things can be done about it:
-Ghisler offers external lister. I'm not sure that it accepts files as parameters, but it should
-Wait for TC 7.5. It has support for starting lister from command line, but currently w/out any files. This still might be changed though, I filed a request for it. The public beta is due out on Wednesday, but most likely w/out this feature yet. Also, we need some time to add new betas, I guess that total it's gonna take less then a month, but I might be very wrong here.

Thanks for reply. I have been really busy and haven't had the time to work on this. I still didn't managed to just move plugins and make things work, but shift = f3 made me really happy. Didn't know about that. I will try to make it to work still. : )

Thanks again.

I recommend to search totalcmd.net and (if it's not there) en.totalcmd.pl for the latest plugin versions. Plugins usually come in a TC's installer-like package, which makes adding them quicker and easier.

If you don't get installation prompt after you enter archive with a plugin, go to Configuration->Plugins->wlx to add it.
