Quick View is too slow
#1
I have compared Quick View in original TC and in TC UP (final version). Files like txt, ini, dat and etc original Viewer opens in nanoseconds, while UP needs up to 4-5 seconds to show the result. I see, that UP uses another, more sophisticated editor, but quick view should be quick. Any ideas?

By "original" you mean "w/out plugins", right?

If so, associate (Config->Misc) Ctrl+Q with cm_SrcQuickInternalOnly.

I already have
Code:
CS+Q=cm_SrcQuickInternalOnly
in wincmd.ini. This is hotkey assigning, right?

On the left is UP, on the right is default TC:

UP editor is much cooler, but delay to open it is too long. If I need string numbers and text highlighting, I will use Notepad++

Yes, it is assigning cm_SrcQuickInternalOnly to Ctrl+Shift+Q.
You can either change it to
Code:
C+Q=cm_SrcQuickInternalOnly
or just use Ctrl+Shift+Q.

Oh, I've got it. But... is it possible to have "default" (SrcQuickInternalOnly) working on "simple" (txt, bak, log) files and unknown ones, while opening image, pdf and other "complex" files with cool UP lister? How this is configured?
Possible, but a lot of mess:
You'd have to remove GSALister and possibly other plugins too. But then you won't have them in the Lister either.
So to have them, you'd have to use either external lister or (TC 7.5 needed) Total Commander with another wincmd.ini and /S=L switch. To use either of them, you'd have to redefine all hotkeys, menus etc. that call Lister now.

Possible, but messy. First, you have to remove GSALister (possibly some other plugins too) from config->plugins->wlx.
But then it won't appear in regular Lister either. To have it, you can use external Lister and redefine all hotkeys, menu entries and whatever you use to use it. In some places (context menu) you won't be able to do this, so it will be somewhat crippled.

With TC 7.5 you can use a secondary wincmd.ini and call it's internal Lister from the command line, so it works just like external one w/out having additional executable.
But currently there are major incompatibilities of some TC UP parts with TC 7.5, they have to be updated, don't use TC 7.5 with our pack until we solve the problems.
