no icons on usb version

I think that you removed some files to save space, didn't you?
If so, could you try this with complete TC UP?

I didn't
But following this suggestion I sycnhronised my local with my usb directories and now it works ok.
It must have happened because I did not copy everything the first time and the 2nd time I did an "overwrite older" copy. It seems that some files (config files?) were updated when I first run TC UP from the usb with error data and they we never replaced after that....
