I am always voting for "optional" features but you should know that only one person is developing TC. Because of the lack of the time, compromises have to be made. It is not the matter of "doesn't care". Prioritising goals is the most important thing and IIRC Christian mentioned once that his "to do list" contains more than thousand items. Even now TC has about 700 options and I am not counting plugins and FTP entries.
I am sometimes upset that some of my ideas are left not commented too but we are all people and some things simply cannot be done, no matter how strong you want to.
