I've noticed something similar recently: After upgrading to TCUP 5.6, at seemingly random times (without any user activity or running plugins or anything) the CPU usage on both cores goes up to 30-50% and stays there until I restart TCUP.
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 2GHz
RAM: 2GB 667Mhz DDR2
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit
Resolution: 1680x1050
AVG Internet Security 2012 with c:/program files/TCUP directory added to resident shield exceptions - but switching it off does not help either
Does anyone here have any idea how to fix this?
