You're not the first who's asking for the same thing but currently none of these is possible.
I think so, separating TC UP to components would be good but the project leader ULTIMA PRIME doesn't want it... I try to persuade him though
But just think for a second, what do you need to change if you don't want to install Miranda IM? The menu file(s) and the buttonbar(s). It isn't so easy to do this from an installer, trust me... and TC UP uses InnoSetup so it is even harder to program in the installer.
The other thing, updating an existing installation is a bit easier than the first but still very hard to do. So it may be in TC UP later, but I'm pretty sure it will not be soon.
PS: If you give TC UP 5 years to develop these... I think... they will be done until then. I may talk big now, but it's better if you don't hope this will be sooner.
