Problems with copying files

I really love TC but I am encountering one problem with it. When I copy files (usually by drag and drop from one pane to the other), the files don't end up in the targeted folder. If I search they appear in something like C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Thinstall\Total Commander Ultima Prime 3.6.0.0\%drive_C%\Temp. Is there a preference or setting that I need to change?

Download TC UP from here, then install.
You don't need 3rd party solutions to make it portable, TC UP works from USB sticks just fine.

I am sorry for my question m^2 but what does you reply have to do with the copying files problem?

Your copy of TC UP runs under poorly configured Thinstall.
Thinstall redirects file and registry actions (usually used to make programs portable) and in this case prevents TC UP from copying files the way you want it to.
Run original TC UP - without Thinstall - and the problem will be gone.
