New files\folders creating is too slow
#1
Hi all. Because of my PC is slightly slow я can't use extended dialog for creating new file/folder; there is 1-2 seconds before this one shows up.
So, the questions is: who to switch off this plugin and start standart dialog using?
I am currently using TC UP 3.4 (2007 12 31).

PS Sorry for my too dirty English (:

Just uncheck TC UP New during the installation.

Is there other ways to do it?

1. Open wincmd.ini file.
2. Find [Shortcuts] section.
3. Delete line for F7 or comment it by placing ";" sign (without quotes) before it.
4. Save the file.

i dont think, that the problem is, that the dialog really is to slow. the problem is, that it takes a time to popup... and when i type something bevor the "new file/folder" dialog opens, the input goes to the commandline and the dialog dosn't became the focus.

the old style F7-dialog hangs sometimes, too, if there's high cpu-utilisation... but when i'm pressing F7, the key-input goes through a buffer and then to the old F7-dialog. it can take a few seconds, too, but all pressed keys are going to the dialog and not to the commandline.

if the new style dialog (which is a great improvement, of course) is handled like the old one, it would be much better!

Unfortunately, it's impossible. We could make it catch pressed keys before drawing the window, but it would still have (in your case probably very significant) delay and would increase total startup time.
