Wrong Version Information in portable V9.0 after Update
#1
Hello team, I need your help

I have installed the current version 9.0 portable as an update and also updated TotalCommander to V11.5. I have been doing this for many years.

However, TC UP Update claims that V8.9 is still installed. Version 8.9 is also displayed in the title bar.

I cannot find out where this information comes from.
I have also used the Sysinternals Process Monitor to see what “TC UP Update” is doing.
I have not found it.

If I install the V9 clean as portable, then there is no problem.

Where does TC UP get the version information from?

Greetings from Martin

Please do not use the update option when switching from version 8.9 to 9.0.

In version 9.0, the architecture has changed completely from 32 bit to 64 bit.

Use a clean installation (even if you are using the portable version)

In the INSTALLATION version, the update option is blocked, first you need to uninstall version 8.9 (but anyway the settings should be preserved when installing version 9.0, thanks to the Backup module)

Version 9.0 is a huge leap forward, so there may be minor bugs that will be eliminated in future versions, if of course there is financial support from users, because without it we will not go further.

Hi Robert

There seems to be another problem.
Doing a fresh install onto a newly installed Win11.

Update from 9 to 9?
