Quick View Panel Problem
#1
I need someone help please.

Until recently I've been using quick view panel to preview my videos or my music. Well now I started getting a blue info message when I press that button saying: "There is a problem with a selected player,Please choose another or correct this problem" ?

Does anyone know what might have happened? When I press Alt+F3 the lister mmedia works fine it just opens in a separate window when it used to open in a left or right panel accordingly.

I have tried to reinstall TC - did't help.

Thanks alot in advance

John

P.S. I don't have this problem previewing pictures though.

Check your mmedia.ini file under:
<TC UP path>\PLUGINS\wlx\Mmedia
and find these lines:
Code:
[Options]
interface=X
Alternate=Y
Try to set other "Alternate" values.

Remember:
interface - lister's interface,
alternate - QuickView mode interface.

Possible X and Y values:
0 - none (same as old id3only option - don't load WMP)
1 - MCI
2 - MP 6.4+
3 - WMP 7+

Maaaaaaaaaaan! You r the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cool

Thank you so much for you help! It worked! My alternate was set up on 2, I changed it to 3 and it's working like a charm now!
It's just weird to me how did this change occur and why when I reinstalled TC it didn't go back to normal. Well, it doesn't matter I guess, just a curiosity.

Thank you one more time brother,

John

Nothing to yell about. Just readme.txt.

I doubt it changed by itself. Imho more plausible scenario is that you've installed something lately or Windows Update changed some dll files in your system.

Hi, i did not want to start a new thread since I have a problem with the same module again - Quick View panel.

I just downloaded and installed new TCUP 4.2 and it would not play mp3 files using Quick View. It plays video, it shows pictures but not mp3. When I try, Total Commander stops responding and hangs so I am forced to close it. I reinstalled it but it did not help. I had to go back to 4.1 version. Also I have tried the Quick View panel option in the original Total Commander 7.04a and it works fine.
So I am wondering if anyone might know where the problem might be.

Thank you in advance

I am sorry but I don't know what might be wrong. Everything seems OK here. I have change nothing with the plugin which handles media. Can you send me mp3 file you've got problem with?

Hi,

Thank you for your respond and I am sorry for making a double post I just was not sure if anyone saw it.

I guess the problem is with my computer somewhere. I will just keep using 4.1 version. I doubt it has anything to do with mp3 files because it does not play any one of them.

Thanks a lot

Hi,

I think this is not computer problem. I have the same problem after instal 4.2 version - TC UP hung up when launch mp3 files. I reinstal back version 4.1, and all is OK.

Alright, now we know for sure this ain't my computer. It must be some change that was made to 4.1 on it's way to become 4.2
