Notepad++ plugin overwritten with an older version
#1
Information
Last 3 editions of the TCUP update have overwrote my already updated Notepad++ to an older version, like right now, Notepad++ 5.0.3 is out, while you distribute TCUP-v4.1 with Notepad++ 5.0.2 included.
Just want to let you know that I've lost important settings and data after updating TCUP.
So my suggestion is: make the installer check each current installed plugin version before updating! And I write that in bold to stress it out...
A second suggestion is to check if the Notepad++ config file is the only one to be upated or not (I lost the recent file list too) - maybe you should add that file to the list of options in the installer menu.

Thank you for such a great program I'm using since the first editions... You rock guys!

I am sorry to hear that.

Do you really want to check almost 4000 files (that's the count)? It could slow down installation a lot.

Yes. it will be done in next versions.

No, I didn't ask/required, I just suggested..
There are only a few pugins used daily by most of the TC_UP users, so you might wanna put at least those on the list of checking.
Anyway, I would preffer you do this at least for Notepad++, which, in my opinion, is one of the most elaborate plugin from those provided in TC_UP...
But again, you decide...

Hello Ciprian

I see that you're from Romania. Would you like to translate TC UP to your native language or know someone who can do it? I've already had six translators from your country for this task but no-one finished his job.

I'd love to, but I am too busy at this moment with my regular job. I am also the phpMyChat-Plus developer, runnig my own translation project... in the free time. Moreover, I'm getting ready to leave country soon for three months, for a professional course in the USA.
But yes, you can send me the templates and I'll see if and what I can do, ok?

BTW... would you like to translate phpMyChat-Plus to Polish? Big Grin

Please send me language files. I can't promise anything except that I might try to find someone for that.

Please split this topic to separate the translation conversation from the Notepad++ original one.
Thanks!

PS: and delete this post afterwards...
