Problems with long accented characters

Hi,
When file name contains long accented characters (eg. ő,ú,í,ű, etc) TC UP treats this file as a corrupt one and it cannot be copy.
Could anybody help me to solve this problem? (I use Hungarian language)[/size]

This is most likely related to the fact that TC 7.04a (included in TC UP) doesn't support Unicode. However, the latest beta version works fine with them. Therefore the next TC UP version should work well with your files.

I use TCUP 4.7 with accented chars with no problems. There should be another problem. (Just tried the íéáűőúöüóÍÉÁŰŐÚÖÜÓ.txt with the same content. I hope i did not forgot anything.) Created with shift+F4 -notepad ++ just came out fine. (Using XP with NTFS hungarian version. Just copied it onto the network to a 2k3 with no prob....)

I bet that that is going to be something about codepage, file system or operating system problem.

Is it working well with another file manager?
(like the built in...)
Would be fine to know what are the above parameters (as many as you can find out at first sight). Probably - the app which created the file.

I assume there is something with the file system that you want to copy to.

I'm form Poland, not Hungary.
I also expect that it's a codepage related. And Unicode programs don't have problems with them. Can you check if it works with bare bone TC 7.5 beta? It should.

I also use WinXP, NTSC etc. and I've tried to copy 'corrupt' filles by own 'file manager' of XP - I'm sorry, I don't want to hurt TcUp to name that Windows bulls*** file manager - and it worked correctly. I could copy and open files but when I tried to open the same file by TcUp, I've got an error messege (attached).

I use ToolbarToggle with Office 2007 and I had to also set up english language in Regional and Locale Setting, do you suppose this is the cause of the problem?

Yes, setting language to Hungarian should help. And TC 7.5 (which will be included in the next TC UP version) should work fine, just like Explorer does now.
