When will be TCUP 4.9?
#1
I have question to team of TCUP, if they can tell, when will be released, next updated version of TCUP? Mr. Ghisler released TC 7.5 final, and also many programs has new version.

Also some new added programs will make me glad Smile

PS: Dont you wanna jump exactly to TCUP 5.0 ?(some matching with TC 7.5 final)

Its not true, maybe in past it was, not now. Actually TCUP is not periodically updated each last day of month. Please check TCUP post and read, u will see.

Yep, it would be nice to see TCUP 4.9 at the last day of the month...

I think it takes a lot of time and many of work for TCUP to update this suite each month... and their target was 100mb size of this suite, then they stopped adding new programs.

But i think they should keep periodicity, because each month i was waiting for new version and now nothing...

For example to change the periodicity to 4times/year. It means one time per 3 months will be good... but periodically...

Achieving 100 mb of size makes absolutely no sense. Why not 101 mb? Target is function and not any superficial points.

A personal, unofficial opinion:

Why not 102? 105? 120? 200? 2048?
It makes sense to say "stop" at some point because the more you add the less people will use it. TC UP is way too powerful for great majority of it's users. So why add more? Why put our work in something that will be used by just a few?

Kind of modularity that would encourage users to extend TC UP themselves and share such extensions could possibly make some sense, though I don't think it would get off the ground.

IMO it makes no sense to continue to extend TC UP the way we used to do.

Well, thanks for the prompt answer. However it seems to be we mess update existed software with implementation of addtional tools. No doubt that present set of tools in TCUP definitely requires update. At least TC should be lifted from public beta to final 7.5.
In turm, I do not see real candidates of additional tools for implementation in TCUP 4.9.

It might now it is time to say stop for adding tools and just to keet up-to-date version?
